Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When the students select Morning and Afternoon sessions, what happens during 11:30 - 1:00?
A. This is when the students attend a class and have a lunch break.

Q. Do I need to pack a lunch for my child?
A. The camp and/or Garrison Forest does not provide lunch for the students. If your student wishes to eat lunch, then you need to provide one.

Q. Where do I find the application to download?
A. The application may be found on the website under the Application tab. The top of the page, has the Download link. The download is in PDF format, so you may fill out the highlighted parts of the application on line, then you need to print the form, sign, and mail the application with your payment. If you would like a paper application sent to you, you may phone Sue Taylor at 410-944-4961 and ask for one or leave a message.

Q. How to request an audition for your child?
A. Virtual auditions are setup after the application is received.  Each student will be contacted to setup a date and time that is convenient for both parties for the audition. The audition times are based on the order of receipt date of your application, and then are assigned.

Q. When does my child need to be picked up at the end of their camp day?
A. There is a 15 minute window of time after the end of their last camp session of the day. There is no supervision after the 15 minute window. Therefore, there is a fee for late pick ups, because an administrator is required to stay until all students are picked up. The fee is specified in the Welcome letter that comes out prior to the start of camp.

Q. Is there before and after care?
A. No, we do not provide before and after care for your student.

 Q. Why should I donate?
 A.  In February, 2020, Balto String Orchestra Camp, Inc. was formed as a public charity.  This is the successor company to Baltimore String Orchestra Camp.  All donations are now tax deductible and you will receive a letter of acknowledgement for your donation for tax purposes.  Please see our Donation page.
